The first small crop of wild seeds was grown at Emorsgate, a little-known corner of Terrington St Clement in Norfolk. Today, three of Donald’s daughters lead Emorsgate Seeds, continuing his legacy alongside the next generation and a loyal, skilled team.

Beyond producing and selling seed, Emorsgate Seeds provides research, surveys, technical advice and tailored consultancy services for individuals and organisations. The business can undertake site visits and prepare comprehensive reports, while also providing contract harvesting and meadow establishment services. Additional services include seed drying, cleaning, storage and analysis. Emorsgate Seeds designed and made the first meadow brush harvester in 1986, producing natural meadow mixtures while being kind to invertebrates and avoiding damage to standing hay crops.
